The school of humanities and social sciences at the University of Zambia offers two courses under this program; 1) Strategic Communication for Health and Development and 2) Understanding and Using Demographic and Health Surveys. The strategic communication course was adapted from the Uganda consortium course while the DHS course was developed by MACRO.

Module 2: Basic Statistics and Demographic and Health Terms for understanding DHS Data
Module 3: Indicators and the DHS
Module 4: Conducting a DHS
Module 5: Understanding DHS Tables and Figures
Module 6: Collecting Data on HIV/AIDS
Module 7: Disseminating and Using Data for Change
About the School of Humanities and Social Sciences
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is one of the foundation schools of the University. It has been offering degree programmes since teaching commenced at the University in March 1966. The purpose of the school is to alleviate the national manpower shortage in the fields of social sciences and humanities by providing a broadly-based degree that would equip graduates to respond constructively and flexibly to the developing requirements of the public and private sectors.
