AfriComNet organizes annual regional workshops (practicum) focused on HIV and AIDS and other priority health and development topics in response to a recognized need to bring together communication practitioners, researchers, policy makers, public and civil society implementing partners and the academia.
The practicums provide an avenue for participants, mostly from across the African continent to:
share local and regional research findings, lessons learned and strategic communication interventions and programs that have improved the effectiveness of HIV and AIDS prevention, care and treatment and other health and development priority topics in the region.
synthesize and document strategies that may have wider application in health and development programs
build skills in communication & define an evidence based health and development advocacy agenda
The outputs from the practicum include a Resource kit containing tools, facts and references which are distributed to all Network members and made available through the AfriComNet website.
